App: ExpatWay — KSA Expat Companion
Package: com.falaahlabs.validocs
Developer: Falah Labs (Salman Aslam)
Effective date: 30 July 2026
Last updated: 30 July 2026
Everything you put into ExpatWay — your documents, their photos, your family members, your notes, your Ibadah record, your settings — is stored only on your own phone. None of it is transmitted to Falah Labs or to anyone else. We could not read it if we wanted to, because we never receive it.
The only way any of your data leaves your phone is if you export a backup file and choose where to put it.
We collect nothing.
ExpatWay has no user accounts, no registration, no login, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, and no backend server of its own. We do not collect, receive, store, sell, rent or share:
Earlier versions of ExpatWay (up to 1.0.3) offered an optional account with cloud backup. That feature has been removed completely. There are no ExpatWay user accounts, and the databases that supported them have been deleted.
We do not have your information, so there is nothing for us to use it for.
Everything the app does with the data you enter happens on your device: calculating expiry status, scheduling reminders, working out prayer times, adding up a dependant fee, and drawing your Ibadah month.
All app data is written to your device's private application storage, which other apps cannot read.
This includes:
Uninstalling ExpatWay deletes all of it. You can also erase everything at any time from Settings ▸ Backup & Restore ▸ Erase all app data. That action is immediate, permanent and cannot be undone by us, because we hold no copy.
ExpatWay's backup is a file you create and control, not a cloud service we operate.
.ewbak file containing your app data, including your document photographs and profile pictures.Restoring reads a file you select and replaces the data on your phone with its contents.
If, and only if, you choose to back up to your own Google Drive, ExpatWay asks you to sign in with Google.
If you never use Google Drive backup, ExpatWay never asks you to sign in to anything.
ExpatWay requests foreground location (while you are using the app) for exactly three purposes:
What happens to it:
Location is optional. Decline it and everything else in the app works normally; only prayer times, Qibla, the weather chip and the prayer-anchored reminders are unavailable.
All notifications are local — scheduled by the app on your own device. ExpatWay has no push server and cannot send you anything from the outside.
Notifications you may opt into:
Every one of these is off until you turn it on, and each can be turned off individually. Notification content is generated on your device from your own data and is never transmitted.
ExpatWay does not scan, index or upload your photo library. It accesses only the specific items you select.
ExpatWay does not record audio. A microphone permission is declared by the standard camera component the app is built on; ExpatWay never requests it and never uses it.
ExpatWay works offline for almost everything. It makes these anonymous requests, none of which carries your identity or any of your data:
| Purpose | Service | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Events list | GitHub Pages (validocssupport-maker.github.io) | Nothing — a plain file download |
| KSA news headlines | Google News RSS, Saudi Gazette RSS | A fixed search term. No personal data |
| Currency rates | open.er-api.com | Nothing — a fixed rates request |
| Weather | Open-Meteo | Approximate coordinates only (see Location) |
| Google Drive backup | Google Drive API | Only the backup file you asked to upload |
Opening a government service, an event page or a news article launches your own browser. From that point you are on that website and its privacy policy applies, not ours. Reporting an issue opens your own email app with the message pre-written — you press send, and no documents, photos or personal data are attached.
ExpatWay is a native mobile application. It uses no cookies, no web beacons, no pixels, no SDK-based analytics, no advertising identifiers and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. There is no advertising in the app.
We share nothing, because we hold nothing. We do not sell, rent, trade or disclose your personal information to anyone — not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to partners.
The only parties involved at all are:
ExpatWay does not transfer your personal data anywhere, because it does not send your personal data anywhere. Your data stays on your device unless you export a backup yourself. If you choose to store that backup in a cloud service, that service decides where the file is held — please see its own policy.
Falah Labs retains no user data, so there is nothing for us to keep or delete.
Your own data is retained on your phone for exactly as long as you keep it there. It is removed when you delete the item, use Erase all app data, or uninstall the app.
Backup files you have created are retained wherever you put them, until you delete them.
Because we hold no personal data, the usual rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability are things you can exercise directly and immediately, without asking us:
If you have a question about this policy, contact us at expatwaysupport@gmail.com.
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (and the UK GDPR) applies, Falah Labs is not a data controller of any personal data of yours, because none is collected or received. Your data is processed only locally on your own device, under your own control.
Should any processing be attributed to us, the lawful basis would be your consent, given by installing and using the app and by granting each optional permission — which you may withdraw at any time by revoking the permission in your device settings or by uninstalling.
You retain your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. As set out above, these rights are exercisable by you directly within the app.
There is no data collection to opt out of and no account to delete.
To remove your data:
Either removes every member, document, photograph, note, saved calculation, Ibadah record and setting from the phone. It is permanent — there is no server copy for us to restore from. Any backup file you made is separate, and you delete it yourself from wherever you saved it.
To revoke Google Drive access, use Disconnect in the app, and/or remove ExpatWay at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
ExpatWay is intended for adults managing residency and family documents in Saudi Arabia. It is not directed at children, and it is not designed for or marketed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If a parent or guardian uses ExpatWay to track a child's documents, that information stays on the parent's own device and is never transmitted to us.
The security of your device itself — its lock screen, its encryption, who has physical access to it, and where you put your backup files — remains your responsibility.
Falah Labs operates no server and holds no user data, so a breach of our systems could not expose your personal information.
In the unlikely event that we became aware of a security issue in the app itself that could put user data at risk, we would publish a notice on this page and release a corrective update through the Google Play Store as quickly as possible, and in any case within 72 hours of becoming aware of it where a notification obligation applies.
ExpatWay contains no advertising network and no analytics SDK of any kind.
We may update this policy when the app changes. The Effective date at the top will be updated, and material changes will be described in the app's Play Store release notes.
Your continued use of ExpatWay after a change means you accept the updated policy. Since no data is collected either before or after any such change, no previously collected data can be affected by one.
By using ExpatWay you consent to this Privacy Policy. Each optional capability — location, notifications, camera, photos, Google Drive — asks for your permission separately, and you can decline or revoke any of them at any time in your device settings without losing the rest of the app.
